In this Internet age, people often make the mistake of thinking that marketing is primarily about advertising. Although advertising is a subset of marketing, there is more to marketing than advertising alone. Marketing is comprehensive; it involves practically all aspects of a business. From development to sales, marketing plays a vital role in keeping a business profitable and the customers happy. Marketing research is used when developing new products or adding new features. Marketers decides the best way to bring the product to market and the best medium in which to present it. Marketing personnel interact with sales personnel to discover which products sell and which don’t. Marketers analyze return on investment and keep a radar on customers’ satisfaction and feature requests. They analyze all the customer feedback to determine which features are worth investing in and which are not.
